Pre-colonialism, countries(who were territories at that time) on the continent where ruled by royal families on every level of governance.
Post colonialism and indepence, the continent is made up of 54 countries which still has royal families who still rule territories and tribes but in a lesser capacity. With that only 3 countries maintain their monarchies in a constitutional capacity.
Lesotho, Morocco and Swaziland still hold monarchs as their head of states.
I am child of the African continent, born and bred here and living its spirit.
